The second revised edition of the book “Na belom hlebu: Capital Punishment in Serbia and Yugoslavia 1804–2002” by Dr. Ivan Janković, one of the founders of the MJB Law Office, has recently been published.

Tracing the history of capital punishment in Serbia and Yugoslavia, this expanded edition offers the most comprehensive overview of its implementation from the Principality of Serbia to the present day, while also shedding light on the social life of this region.

From its establishment in 1985 up to the present day, MJB law office has remained dedicated to human right protection, while our attorneys have represented clients in numerous human rights cases, especially those concerning freedom of expression. Our colleague Ivan Jankovic was the creator of such approach towards the firm’s practice, while his book on capital punishment is the seminal work in this area both in Serbia and the region of former Yugoslavia.
